At the beginning of the course, Dr. Lin threw out the classic philosophical question “Who Am I?” that caused the students to think and analyze that different stages of life would form different personalities, thus creating different qualities of ours. To understand oneself, we need to combine our own habits, the way of thinking, the mode of emotional expression and other multiple dimensions for analysis objectively. Just as Dr. Lin shared with the students the famous quote from Aristotle: “The ultimate value of life depends upon awareness and the power of contemplation rather than upon mere survival”, Understanding “who am I” can make your body and mind more peaceful, more relaxed, happier, and be happy to think, change, and explore yourself forever. Dr. Lin suggested that students could change themselves by writing an obituary (virtual) for themselves and reviewing it every three years or so.
Dr. Lin is giving wonderful lesson.
Dr. Lin analyzed that the daily decisions generally come from two kinds of decision-making methods: quick thinking and slow thinking. Both methods are influenced by human sub-consciousness. Human sub-consciousness is formed through its own experience, insights, cultivation, etc. We must enhance our experience and insights to enrich the subconscious mind so that bad subconscious minds become good subconscious minds and have a positive effect when needed. All subconscious transformations have also created different selves. They are generally divided into five types: self-centered, self-expression, self-awareness, self-cultivation and self-criticism, the environment in which each person is educated, and the practical activities experienced, which will affect the formation of the self. Dr. Lin suggested that to change oneself, the key is to change the self's behaviors, thereby changing the self-cognition, and finally forming a different subconscious. Dr. Lin combined with the spirit of “The highest goodness is like water, self-discipline and social commitment”, “overcoming hardness with softness, and conquering strength with weakness” in the Chinese traditional culture, and the spirit of “too much equals not enough”, exhorting students to be self-conscious and not extreme, be good at using the right theory in the right thing and the right occasion. "Love is the origin of everything." The key to the harmonious development of the team lies in the fact that everyone must be good at mobilizing the two sides of human nature and face them in an active, symbiotic, and actionable manner, and fully play their roles. Because of the different use of brain tissue, each person can be broadly divided into four modes of behavior: the actor mode, the adaptor mode, the sensory mode, and the stimulator mode. Under the premise of understanding oneself, everyone can address different situations, change their behavior patterns and make better work. At the same time, the team can analyze the behavior pattern of its members to make them aware of the merits and demerits to achieve doubled results with half efforts.
After Dr. Lin’s wonderful sharing, the students who had doubts in their hearts for a long time combined with the problems of their own work and the perplexities in life & learning asked questions and seek guidance. In the interaction between each other, Dr. Lin not only led the students to slowly open the cloud of thought, but also led to more practical and practical theoretical guidance to the students. After the exchange, many students stepped up the stage in turn to share their understanding of learning.
Students are seeking enlightenment from the teacher.
At the end of the class, the class teacher of PENGCHENG Academy gave Dr. Lin exquisite gifts on behalf of all the trainees. He thanked Dr. Lin for bringing a wonderful and rewarding course to PENGCHENG Academy. At the same time, the class teacher will instruct the family members to constantly reflect on the question: “Is my life happy? Have I exert my life? Am I responsible for life?” and to enrich one’s life through doing good deeds, practicing personal behaviors, and bringing meaning to life, making it fruitful, beautiful and valuable. He encouraged students to learn two points: 1. To continue to learn and improve, to cleanse the soul and spiritual world through study, to allow the body and mind to develop healthily, and to sum up learning experiences in a timely manner so that the sentiments of learning can be preserved; 2 There is no need to fear in the face of work problems. The existence of problems is the original intention of people to reflect on the problem, and the fear could be overcome by refining the core of the problem and seeking the methods for solving the problems. Finally, in the warm applause of all the students, the course has come to a perfect conclusion!
